Although, we don’t expect this to fit many theater marques the official title for Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey movie is going to be called Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). The title was first revealed by Margot Robbie via her copy of the finalized script on Instagram and then confirmed by TheHollywoodReporter suggesting it’s a parody of sorts of the Birdman title.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed this is the official title and not just the star having some fun by riffing off of Michael Keaton’s 2014 Oscar-winning movie Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).
I doubt we’ll see that full title on anything other than marketing materials.
HN Entertainment recently revealed that 87Eleven Action Design (Deadpool 2, John Wick 1-3, Atomic Blonde) would be tackling the film’s action sequences/stunts with Jonathan Eusebio acting as stunt coordinator and Jon Valera as the fight coordinator. Cementing the previous talk from Cathy and Margot that the film would be heading towards an R-rating.
I first reported at OmegaUnderground that filming on the DC Comics film is set to begin mid-January in Los Angeles, California.
