One of the most beloved members of the infamous Star Wars prequels is finally getting his own story. Ewan McGregor is finally set to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a brand-new Disney Plus series.
McGregor arrived at the D23 Expo this Friday and surprised fans with a gift that they may have seen coming, but welcomed nonetheless. The untitled project will begin shooting sometime next year, with the screenplays for the season ready to go.

HN Entertainment first reported that Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian was already given a second season order even before the footage was shown at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year (later confirmed by Favreau himself as he’s already started writing it), ahead of the show’s debut on November 12th at the launch of Disney+.
