TheWrap first reported that Noah Centineo would be playing He-Man for Sony Pictures in their reboot of Masters of The Universe, based on the toys and cartoon with the Nee Brothers set to direct. Noah has now confirmed the reporting to late-night host Jimmy Fallon, that he’s indeed playing He-Man in the film while on TheTonighShow.
FALLON: Is this a true rumor, I heard you might be playing He-Man?
CENTINEO: “Yes. Masters of The Universe! I have an affinity for being in my underway, I don’t know.”
FALLON: He-Man is one of my favorites, I grew up with all those toys. I was probably too old to be playing with them. That’s gonna be giant, congratulations.
CENTINEO: “Thank you. It’s quite an opportunity.”

Filming on the project is said to begin this summer in Prague.

When the evil Skeletor (Frank Langella) finds a mysterious power called the Cosmic Key, he becomes nearly invincible. However, courageous warrior He-Man (Dolph Lundgren) locates inventor Gwildor (Billy Barty), who created the Key and has another version of it. During a battle, one of the Keys is transported to Earth, where it is found by teenagers Julie (Courteney Cox) and Kevin (Robert Duncan McNeill). Now both He-Man and Skeletor’s forces arrive on Earth searching for the potent weapon.
