Today, EON has officially announced that they have pushed the April release date for No Time To Die to a more traditional November spot.
Here is that statement which was announced on the official Twitter account.
MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of NO TIME TO DIE will be postponed until November 2020.
The film will be released in the U.K. on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the US launch on November 25, 2020.
It remains to be seen if projected coronavirus impact on box office turnout came into play as it wasn’t mentioned in this statement, but it wouldn’t be shocking.
Then again, November has been a traditional release date for the franchise.
Recent tracking information had the film eyeing a domestic opening in the range of $75-100 million, possibly new information suggested to them moving to November might have dodged any dips to those numbers from the coronavirus.
It is also expected to have the longest running time of any Bond film.
The cast will include Daniel Craig as James Bond, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Rami Malek (Bohemian Rapsody) as a new villain named Safin (rumored to be a version of Dr. No), Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as Felix Leiter, Ralph Fiennes (The King’s Man) as M, Christoph Waltz returning as Spectre’s Blofeld, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) as Nomi aka the new Agent 007, Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049) as Paloma, Ben Whishaw as Q, Billy Magnussen, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner, David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah.
No Time To Die will now be released domestically on November 25th.
Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help.
The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
