It looks like the CW and producer Greg Berlanti is still going to keep grinding out those DC Comics shows as Deadline reports they are now developing a new series titled Superman & Lois starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, who previously played the roles in the Supergirl series among other CW shows set in the DC Comics universe.
The CW’s DC universe is eying another major expansion with Superman & Lois, a present-day drama based on the DC characters, starring Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the iconic couple. The hourlong project, now in development, hails from The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing, DC Universe architect Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. TV, where Helbing and Berlanti are under deals.
It’ll be interesting to see if the series will attempt to bring in iconic Superman villains.
This move could further support that Supergirl is the priority character at Warner Bros. Studios.
I remember the old Dean Cain and Terri Hatcher ABC series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997), I’m assuming this new series will have a similar tone.
Berlanti is a busy bee with multiple television shows on the air and in different development stages. He’s also looking to get into the film directing business with his feature film debut, a remake of Little Shop of Horrors for Warner Bros. set to shoot in Los Angeles, California after the production landed a state tax credit.
Greg Berlanti is said to be deep in the casting process for Little Shop and we could be getting some official lead casting announcements in very near future from the studio/trades.
