For one of the first time in its history, Square Enix plans to include paid DLC for a Kingdom Hearts title. According to a trailer that was released today, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be receiving its very first set of story DLC later on this winter.
We first see a conversation between young Xehanort and the Masters of Masters as they sit in the middle of the Keyblade Graveyard. This conversation could most likely take place before the main events of Kingdom Hearts 3 as young Xehanort makes the statement, “In an awful way, I realized just how necessary I am.” Meaning he understands his purpose after coming into contact with Sora and Riku during the events of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.
The later parts of the trailer cuts toward the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 where the climactic battle between Sora and Xehanort and Friends takes place. The scenes shown are the most exciting as they reveal that in the upcoming DLC, we will get the chance to spend more time playing as Aqua and Riku. There is even a shot that indicates that Roxas will be playable for the first time in the game!
The trailer ends with Organization XIII members Luxord and Xigbar speaking in the middle of the Keyblade Graveyard. Luxord asks Xigbar about his true identity, catching on to the fact that Xigbar is the Master of Masters. Then Luxord decides to give up and continue playing dumb and walking away. The last scene we are given is that of Xigbar asking himself, “The question is who are you, Luxord?”
The Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC Re: Mind will be available this winter.
