This title would seemingly reveal that this new project would be set 15 years after the series Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. The original 1995 anime film Ghost In The Shell is set in 2029, Stand Alone Complex is set in 2030, Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence is set in 2032, Ghost In The Shell Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society is set in 2034, the reboot/prequels Ghost In The Shell: Arise and Ghost In The Shell: The New Movie taking place in 2027.
A synopsis isn’t included in the announcement but it looks like it will continue the Stand Alone Complex story 9 years after Solid State Society with Section 9.
Other Netflix anime projects on the horizon include Pacific Rim, Altered Carbon, and Ultraman.
Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045 is set for release on Netflix sometime in 2020.
