Along with making a deal to have Marvel Studios return to make Spider-Man 3 for Sony Pictures, an updated part of the deal from Deadline reveals that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will show up in one more Marvel/Disney film similar to his appearances in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
They also detail some of the financial aspects of the deal as well.
UPDATED: Sony has agreed to the terms that Disney originally proposed for its participation in a third Spider-Man movie where by Disney/Marvel would co-finance 25% of a third Homecoming movie for a 25% equity stake. The deal also calls for Spider-Man appearing in one more Disney/Marvel movie.
The deal apparently took place last night.
When and where Spider-Man will show up in this second movie has yet to be revealed.
If I’m Marvel Studios, I would make sure that this single project was the next event film instead of blowing it on a brief cameo. Those projects could be anything ranging from Secret Wars, Secret Invasion, and maybe even The Ultimates.
It hasn’t been announced if director Jon Watts will be returning for the third Spidey flick.
Spider-Man 3 seemingly is next for Holland which has been given a release date of July 16th, 2021.
