Yesterday, HN Entertainment was able to confirm that Netflix will be shooting their live-action Cowboy Bebop series in New Zealand (possibly Auckland).
Today, we can now reveal that it will also spend some time shooting in South Africa as well (possibly Cape Town).
Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world…for the right price.
We recently reported that they’ve added stunt coordinator Allan Poppleton (Avatar, The Wolverine, Jungle Cruise) to the production team as well.
The cast so far consists of John Cho (Star Trek franchise) as Spike Spiegel, Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Faye Valentine, Mustafa (Luke Cage) as Jet Black, and Alex Hassell as Vicious.
I’m curious when we’ll hear more casting announcements for the upcoming show.
A portion of Netflix’s Witcher series is said to have shot in South Africa as well, it was a location recently used for Doctor Who and Outlander.
The Cowboy Bebop series is expected to drop on Netflix sometime in 2020.
