HN Entertainment has learned that supervising art director Tom Nursey has joined the production team on New Line Cinema’s Mortal Kombat movie reboot produced by Aquaman’s James Wan.

Tom’s credits include Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and the Dwayne Johnson disaster flick San Andreas.
Currently, the only announced cast member is action star Joe Taslim (The Raid, Furious 7), who is set to play Sub-Zero in the reboot.
While there had been rumblings that Joel Kinnaman (Warrior) was wanted for the role of Kano.
More casting announcements are incoming.
We are expecting multiple original characters from the first game to appear in the film and it was confirmed by the screenwriter Greg Russo that the Fatalities from the video game would be showing up, this would certainly secure the film a Hard-R rating.
Filming will take place at Adelaide Studios in Glenside, South Australia, Australia.
Warner Bros. has set the film’s release date for March 5th, 2021.
