HN Entertainment has learned that Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie) and Skydance’s Ghost Draft starring Chris Pratt (Guardians of The Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic World) has landed their production designer. They’ve hired Peter Wenham, who is best known for films such as Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Fast Five.
Deadline previously posted what could be the film’s barebones logline and might be something a little more action-focused.
A husband and father is drafted to fight a future war in which the fate of humanity may rely on his ability to correct issues of the past.
There is also word that Paramount Pictures will end up distributing the science fiction war film, after the original casting report from Deadline announcing Chris Pratt’s involvement didn’t mention Paramount’s participation on the film.
Pratt had been reportedly talking with the studio in the fall about taking on the titular role for The Saint reboot they’ve been developing that could certainly become their next action franchise. He also has Jurassic World 3 and Guardians of The Galaxy 3 on deck.
Director Chris McKay has various projects in development including a Netflix feature film based on the Millarworld comic book Reborn which stars Sandra Bullock.
We can also confirm the previous reporting from GeeksWorldwide that they do intend to film Ghost Draft in Atlanta, Georgia.
GeeksVibeNation had posted on Twitter that they plan on getting cameras rolling on September 10th for a wrap date of January 16th, 2020.
