James Gunn has taken to Twitter to officially announce the full cast of The Suicide Squad, which includes a wave of new additions that haven’t been previously revealed.

The cast officially now consists of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, John Cena, Alice Braga (Predators, New Mutants), Taika, Waititi, Peter Capaldi, Joaquin Cosio (Quantum of Solace, Narcos: Mexico), David Dastmalchian, Sean Gunn, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Steve Agee, Daniela Melchior, Jennifer Holland, Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson, Julio Ruiz, Juan Diego Botto, and Tinashe Kajese.

The multiple Lantix actors represented here would suggest that indeed the setting of Panama is correct.

I have to assume that Mayling Ng will be playing Duchess given her stunt/action background, she also played an Amazonian named Orana in Wonder Woman. Then again, it’s just our speculation.

Filming will begin later this month at Pinewood Atlanta Studios.

Warner Bros. has given the film an official release date of August 6th, 2021.
