HN Entertainment has learned that Michael Fassbender’s next project Kung Fury 2 has added veteran cinematographer Tom Stern (Clint Eastwood’s longtime cinematographer). His various credits include Million Dollar Baby, American Sniper, Gran Torino, The Hunger Games, The Meg, and Sully.
Kung Fury 2 is a sequel to David Sandberg’s bonkers short film.
During an unfortunate series of events a friend of Kung Fury is assassinated by the most dangerous kung fu master criminal of all time; Adolf Hitler, a.k.a Kung Führer. Kung Fury decides to travel back in time, to Nazi Germany, in order to kill Hitler and end the Nazi empire once and for all.
Joining Michael on the cast will reportedly be Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eiza Gonzalez, David Sandberg, and David Hasselhoff.
The script was penned by Child’s Play writer Tyler Burton Smith and director David Sandberg.
Filming is said to begin on July 29th in Bulgaria and Germany.
It’ll be interesting to see if they’ll be able to amp up the action to be a little less camp and slightly more cinematic.
Kung Fury 2 is currently without an official release date.
