It was recently confirmed that Matrix 4 is really happening with Lana Wachowski directing.
TheHollywoodReporter reveals that they’ve added cinematographer John Toll to the sequel.
Cinematographer John Toll, who won two back-to-back Oscars for his work for Edward Zwick’s Legends of the Fall in 1994 and Mel Gibson’s Braveheart in 1995, is in negotiations to shoot the new Matrix movie, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Toll has also worked with Lana over the years with Sense8, Jupiter Ascending, and Cloud Atlas.
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are reportedly returning as well.
Details on the film are limited at this time as speculation has already started by fans how they’ll execute this fourth installment.
Filming is expected to begin in early 2020.
Warner Bros. has given Matrix 4 an official release date, but sometime in 2021 is a good bet.
