We’ve been a little concerning about Sony Pictures’ Masters of The Universe movie as previously some have said that the film would begin filming this summer and they haven’t even cast a second actor after reportedly landing Noah Centineo (Charlie’s Angels) as the lead.
Well, we have an update thanks to co-director Adam Nee of the Nee Brothers who spoke to ThePortableClintCulpShow and briefly touched-upon the current shooting schedule of the fantasy film, which is now going to begin filming in early 2020.
CLINT: Where are guys on making this movie?
NEE: “We’ve been prepping and we’re doing some script work. The prep that you do and it’s long prep because it’s a huge movie. And we shoot the beginning of next year.”
This would likely dispel any talk of a summer shoot or even delays into the fall.
A big thanks to Criggins, who gave us the heads up on the interview!
Sony Pictures had recently given Masters of The Universe a release date of March 5th, 2021, which will have it go head-to-head with WB’s R-rated Mortal Kombat movie produced by James Wan.
The studio’s release date may suggest filming could begin before March.
