Some interesting crew additions for upcoming Marvel Studios releases have made their way online.

First, GeekVibesNations suggest that special effects supervisor Paul Corbould has joined Cate Shortland’s Black Widow solo movie, which is currently shooting. Paul’s credits include Christopher Nolan’s WWII Dunkirk, Doctor Strange, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of The Galaxy, and 47 Ronin.

Production kicked-off in Norway and Pinewood Studios UK, it has indeed begun shooting exterior scenes in Budapest, Hungary (HN first reported it being a location).

DiscussingFilm also tweeted out a potential crew update for Shang-Chi as visual effects supervisor Christopher Townsend might be handling the effects on the action film. His credits include Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2, Captain Marvel, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: The First Avenger.

It looks like Shang-Chi’s development is moving along quicker than we had expected as with most of the crew assembled it has entered pre-production. This would suggest that a casting search has started for the project.

Australian sound mixer Guntis Sics (Thor: Ragnarok, Aquaman) recently reaffirmed local Australian outlets that Shang-Chi would be the Marvel Studios project to film at Sydney’s Fox Studios Australia. Adding that production could next year.

SICS: “There are some cool things coming to Australia. There is another Marvel movie Shang-Chi, I think it’s called. It’s a new Marvel movie coming to Sydney next year. It’s based on a kung fu master, I think.”

Neither projects have yet to be officially announced by Marvel Studios and are currently without release dates. However, there is a good chance that Black Widow will be out on May 1st, 2020.
