The official schedule for San Diego Comic-Con has been posted on their official website and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will indeed make a return as previously reported.
Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige and surprise panelists provide an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The panel will take place on July 20th from 5:15 pm to 6: 45 pm PST, which will roughly be an hour and a half, depending on if they begin a little late or end early.
There is an expectation that Mr. Feige will be officially announcing Phase 4 projects such as Black Widow (currently filming), The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Guardians of The Galaxy 3, Black Panther 2, and Doctor Strange 2.
I’m expecting a handful of panels, possibly some casting announcements/confirmations. If we’re lucky they might reveal the actor playing Shang-Chi as they revealed Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel in the past on stage during similar slate presentations.
A panel for Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson and the cast attending would make sense as they won’t be able to promote the film next July as it most likely will be releasing on May 1st, 2020.
Some have made the assumption that Kevin could reveal plans for Deadpool 3 (a script was being penned before the merger completed), Fantastic Four, and X-Men, but that remains to be seen if he’ll be announcing any films beyond the six we already know about. Surprises are the norm with these Marvel presentations, but they only recently finalized the Disney/Fox merger in March and they might want to continue with existing slate plans first. Feige has publicly stated that the X-Men aren’t part of their current five-year plan.
However, is a slim chance they could speak to Adam McKay’s Silver Surfer and Noah Hawley’s Doctor Doom.
I don’t know if we’re going to be seeing another entire Phase reveal as we did with the El Capitan Theatre presentation for Phase 3 a while back.
HN Entertainment will be attending the event to stay tuned for our coverage.
