HN Entertainment has learned that veteran special effects supervisor Daniel Sudick is working on director Shawn Levy’s action film Free Guy that stars Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds.
Free Guy centers on a background character (Ryan Reynolds) who realizes he’s living in a video game. With the help of an avatar (Jodie Comer), he tries to prevent the makers of the game from shutting down his world.
Daniel’s many Marvel Studios credits include Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Black Panther, The Avengers, Iron Man 2, Thor, Iron Man 3, Ant-Man, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. He’s also worked on War of The Worlds, Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Kingdom, Furious 7, Bad Times At The El Royale, Passengers, Cowboys and Aliens, The Negotiator, and Mission: Impossible III.
Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), and Utkarsh Ambudkar also have roles in the science fiction movie that is currently filming in Boston, Massachusetts.
We previously confirmed that the crew would include cinematographer George Richmond (Tomb Raider, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kingsman: The Golden Circle) and stunt coordinator Chris O’Hara (Hobbs and Shaw, Red Sparrow, Venom, Jurassic World).
Along with Kin production designer Ethan Tobman expected as well.
20th Century Fox/Disney has given Free Guy the prime summer release date of July 3rd, 2020.
