Once Upon A Time In Hollywood breakout actress Margaret Qualley has landed a lead role in Scott Cooper’s upcoming horror flick A Head Full of Ghosts according to a European Film Market report from Deadline.
Scott Cooper is set to direct Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘s Margaret Qualley in the psychological horror A Head Full of Ghosts. The film is backed by Cross Creek, Team Downey and The Allegiance Theater.
Cross Creek is financing, with CAA Media Finance representing U.S. rights and Mad River International launching overseas sales at the European Film Market in Berlin.
The film’s script was penned by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, is adapted from the novel of the same name from author Paul Tremblay.
When 8-year-old Merry’s older sister exhibits signs of an indeterminate and terrifying affliction, the Barrett family slowly tears itself apart.
Now, 20 years later, Merry is confronted with her family’s traumatic past when Rachel, a journalist with a similarly haunted past, delves into the case, causing Merry to relive and reconsider the devastating memories of her childhood.
Margaret is no stranger to genre projects recently having a role in Death Note for Netflix, HBO’s The Leftovers, and had a supporting role in the Hideo Kojima’s latest video game Death Stranding.
Qualley is also expected to co-star with The Batman actor Robert Pattinson in upcoming Claire Denis’ movie The Stars At Noon, which recently landed at A24.
Set in 1984 during the Nicaraguan Revolution, the film follows a mysterious English businessman and headstrong American journalist who strike up a passionate romance. They soon become embroiled in a dangerous labyrinth of lies and conspiracies and are forced to try and escape the country, with only each other to trust and rely on.
Scott Cooper has an upcoming horror flick Antlers starring Keri Russell and produced by Guillermo del Toro with an April 17th release date set by Searchlight Pictures.
The director as an interesting list of credits which includes Crazy Heart, Black Mass, Out of The Furnace, and Hostiles.
