Today, Netflix has announced that Season 2 of their cyberpunk series Altered Carbon is now in production along with announcing the new cast members for the show.
The new cast members include Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Hurt Locker) Takeshi Kovacs previously played by Joel Kinnaman, Simone Missick (Iron Fist, The Defenders, Luke Cage) as Trepp, Dina Shihabi as Dig 301, Torben Liebrecht as Colonel Ivan Carrera, James Saito as Tanaseda Hideki, Renee Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist Falconer, and Chris Conner as Poe.

Filming is said to be returning to Vancouver and possibly the United Kingdom as well.
The science fiction series was created and is currently showrun by Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island), who is best known for working on various sci-fi projects such as Avatar, Alita: Battle Angel, Terminator Genisys, and Ghost In The Shell.
Altered Carbon is set in the 25th century when the human mind has been digitized and the soul itself is transferable from one body to the next. Takeshi Kovacs, a former elite interstellar warrior known as an Envoy who has been imprisoned for 250 years, is downloaded into a future he’d tried to stop.
