Lucasfilm’s press release for Star Wars: The High Republic aka Project Luminous seemingly has debunked previous rumors that they were planning on making films and shows set in this era of the Star Wars universe.
Posted on the official Star Wars website, Lucasfilm has publicly doubled-down on The High Republic being a strictly a publishing event focused on novels and comic books.
This period on the Star Wars timeline will not overlap any of the filmed features or series currently planned for production, giving creators and partners a vast amount of room to tell Star Wars stories with new adventures and original characters.
This would allow creators to develop this era without having to rush out new live-action films and series.
However, it doesn’t mean they won’t consider tackling the High Republic down the road.
