‘Loki’ Series Rumor Could Be Slightly Disappointing For Tom Hiddleston Fans

Marvel Studios is developing a bunch of Marvel Cinematic Universe series for Disney+ as they’ll include Vision and Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier and Falcon, and Loki. If a new rumor turns out to be true, the Loki series might be a little disappointing to fans expecting to see Tom Hiddleston having a substantial part in the series.

ThatHashtagShow has a new rumbling that is saying that Hiddleston’s role might be relegated to a voiceover, which seems a little odd considering the other Marvel Studios shows will be able to wrangle their other stars back for the streaming service.

Additionally, I shared a rumor of my own late last night. While I was unable to confirm it with a second source, I was told that Marvel Studios might be taking an interesting approach to their Loki series. It’s been reported that Tom Hiddleston will return to reprise the role of Loki, but it seems that the series may find him narrating the events of his own life, presumably from the afterlife (Valhalla) following his death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. This opens up all sorts of story-telling possibilities and is consistent with the original reporting on the show which indicated it could take place at any time during Loki’s considerably long life.

Could we end up seeing Lady Loki or Kid Loki as a possible replacement for Hiddleston’s version? That remains to be seen, as there is a chance that this rumor might be incorrect to what ultimately happens and what Hiddleston’s involvement will be.

I personally think it would be a horrible idea to have a Loki series only to have Tom Hiddleston do voice work. I mean, his fanbase is rather large and they’ll be expecting to see Hiddleston return in a big way (press coverage made it out to be that Tom’s role was large) and Marvel was able to wrangle folks like Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan for their other Disney+ shows.

Fans could feel a little misled by Marvel if Tom is only lending his voice.

Hiddleston isn’t beneath doing television as he recently did The Night Manager and has reprised the Loki role for various promotional reasons for Marvel including famously appearing in costume for a Comic-Con, so it does seem a little fishy they couldn’t get him back in costume for his solo series, dead or not.

If it is a scheduling thing, they might as well just wait for Tom as you don’t exactly need Chris Hemsworth or Anthony Hopkins involved. I guess this will be a wait and see situation, as casting should reveal if this is happening or not.
