Sony Pictures has hired another interesting actor for their sequel to Jumanji: Welcome The Jungle. Veteran character actor Danny Glover has joined the cast of the next Jumanji film according to TheHollywoodReporter.

Glover is best known for his work on the Lethal Weapon franchise, The Color Purple, Predator 2, The Royal Tenenbaums, Be Kind Rewind, Shooter, and James Wan’s original Saw.
Details concerning the sequel are scarce but it’s expected to see the video game incarnation causing more trouble and possibly pulling in new players into the jungle adventure video game world. What we do know is that we’ll see returning cast members such as Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. Director Jake Kasdan is also back.
If you’re unfamiliar with the last installment here is a rundown of the film.
Four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game’s jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji – you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves – or they’ll be stuck in the game forever.
Sony Pictures has set the film’s release date for the untitled Jumanji film on December 13th.
