Latest Targeted ‘Black Adam’ Production Start Is July According To Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson has stated on Twitter that his Black Adam movie based on the DC Comics character will begin shooting next summer sometime in July.

Johnson had previously suggested that filming would begin in spring 2020, now it’s July 2020, so things could change on a dime.

This isn’t the first conflicting start date, only in August producer Hiram Garcia told Collider they wouldn’t begin production until late 2020.

GARCIA: “Jaume Collet-Serra, he just closed his deal, which we’re very excited about, and the plan is to begin filming that end of next year.”

If this new start date is true that would mean that things could be moving forward quicker than expected back in August.

As confirmed by Hiram, Jaume Collet-Serra (Run All Night) is set to direct Black Adam.

Adam Sztykiel (Rampage) penned the script along with Zachary Levi’s upcoming action-comedy Spy Guys, which is also at New Line Cinema.

Don’t expect a Shazam! crossover anytime soon as actor Zachary Levi has stated that it won’t likely happen until Black Adam 2 or a third Shazam! movie.

Dwayne Johnson’s next big project is Netflix’s heist movie Red Notice co-starring Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot and Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds.

A release date for Black Adam has yet to be given to the DC Comics film.
