During the ACE Universe Comic-Con in Chicago, Rocketman and Kingsman franchise star Taron Egerton gave a tiny update on the status of Kingsman 3 revealing that the product indeed has a script (possibly written by Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman?).

But you’ve mentioned that we possibly might be getting more Eggsy after that. Are there any details on that? Does it pick up right after Kingsman 2?

EGERTON: “I’m really not allowed to say anything, but there is a script and it’s a really neat idea.”

But you are coming back as Eggsy?

EGERTON: “The plan at the moment is that we’ll do another one. That’s what we’d like to do.”

You can watch the full interview below hosted by our lovely pal Karama (@theblerdgurl on Twitter) and thanks to LittleGirlofSeven for posting the video.

We also have our own update on the R-rated comic book franchise.

HN Entertainment has learned that that third/final Eggsy/Harry movie had actually been using the working title of Kingsman: The Great Game internally for a while now, and wasn’t meant for upcoming prequel The King’s Man.

This would explain the title change/confusion a while back given that Kingsman 3 and The King’s Man were once thought to be the same project.

However, it’s unknown if they’ll still pursue that title.

Also, Kingsman 3 seemingly has been quietly greenlit by 20th Century Fox/Disney.

We had been previously able to support claims from trades that Filth director Jon S. Baird (Stan and Ollie) is expected to fill in for Matthew Vaughn on the third installment. Although, it has not been made official by the studio.

Keep in mind, 20th Century Fox/Disney has yet to officially announce plans for Kingsman 3 including a release date, director or cast. Matthew Vaughn has really been the only one to chat it up to the press.

We had recently exclusively revealed that Kingsman franchise actors Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci (has a supporting role in The King’s Man) were shooting a drama together titled Supernova for director Harry Macqueen.

Matthew Vaughn while speaking with ThePlaylist hoped that Kingsman 3 begins filming either later this year (now unlikely) or early 2020 (more likely).

VAUGHN: And then we hope to shoot ‘Kingsman 3’ either late this year or early next year, but it won’t be out until 2021, so, who knows? If everyone likes the next two movies—there’s two more to come, hopefully, people like them enough that we can count on making another one.

It’ll be interesting to see where Kingsman 3 shoots as the first two installments shot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, but The King’s Man was shot at Longcross Studios.

The King’s Man is set for release on February 14th, 2020.
