Kevin Feige Confirms ‘Eternals’ Will Have MCU’s First Openly Gay Male Character

Supporting previously rumblings that Eternals would have an openly gay male character, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed this to GoodMorningAmerica.

The news was posted by GMA producer Tony Morrison on Twitter.

FEIGE: “The Eternals will feature Marvel’s first openly gay character. He’s married and has a family and it’s part of who he is.”

It will certainly be interesting to see who the character actually is after some previous speculation it could be Richard Madden’s Ikaris.

Deadline stated recently that Eternals has begun filming at Pinewood Studios UK, despite Kevin Feige not mentioning production has started while promoting the film at D23 Expo over the weekend with a bulk of the cast. Kevin normally announces when production is underway publicly at events such as these.

Eternals is for release on November 6th, 2020.
