Kevin Feige Confirms Animated Disney+ Marvel Studios Series ‘What If?’ – One Segment Will See Peggy Carter Become A Super-Soldier Instead of Steve Rogers

During the Marvel Studios segment of the Disney+ presentation, studio head Kevin Feige revealed that they will be making an animated series based on the What If? comics (confirming the report from our friends at SlashFilm).

Feige teased that in one of the segments we will see Peggy Carter become a super-soldier instead of Steve Rogers, who will stay as skinny Steve.

This certainly an interesting concept and we’ll be exciting to see what other interesting concepts they’ll come up for the animated anthology series. Given that the series is animated I’m curious if they’ll also include characters not traditionally already in the MCU, including the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

A lot of potential here for fans to see more comic book stuff that would unlikely happen in the movies take place during the What If? segments, I’m curious if we’ll also see Spider-Man join the Fantastic Four or Punisher join S.H.I.E.L.D. There are decades worth of stories they could use from the existing comics or make of up their own as well.

While this isn’t an Agent Carter revival more Peggy Carter isn’t a terrible thing and seeing her get an awesome superhero moment with powers will be exciting, animated or not.
