HN Entertainment has learned that ILM visual effects supervisor David Vickery is expected to return for the third untitled Jurassic World film. His credits include Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Fast and Furious 6, and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
Here is an interview with Vickery alongside creature supervisor Neal Scanlan, who has been previously revealed as returning as well.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are attached to reprise their roles for Jurassic World 3 which is said to be directed and co-written by Colin Trevorrow. The script will be co-written by Emily Carmichael.
We assume the third film will deal with the dinosaurs now roaming on the mainland.
I personally thought that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was a bit of a bummer with how they dealt with the island and killing off a bulk of the dinosaurs via the volcano eruption. I’m interested to see what direction they’ll ultimately go here and if they’ll try to scale back the tonally weird elements from the last installment as I felt it was excessive dark.
Production dates are a little hazy at the moment but there is an assumption that the filming would begin before Chris Pratt is required to shoot Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy 3 with director James Gunn back in the saddle.
Universal Pictures has set the release date for Jurassic World 3 for June 11th, 2021.
It’s been three years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times. With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
