John Wick director Chad Stahelski has yet another action film in development.
Deadline reports that Chad is working with A Quiet Place II producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller to put together an original untitled car-centric action film that is expected to be in the vein of the classics of the genre.
Chad is eyeing to direct a script penned by Andrew Nemec and Josh Appelbaum.
A Quiet Place producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller have set at Paramount an action movie described as a high-concept spin capturing the spirit of the great car movies, with a unique central relationship at its center. Chad Stahelski is eyeing to direct; Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum will write the script.
Details on the film are scarce at the moment.
This isn’t terribly shocking as the cars of John Wick and the chase scenes have been extremely important, Chad’s love for cars is undeniable.
Chad has John Wick: Chapter 4 shooting this year with Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne returning for a release date of May 21st, 2021.
Filming on John Wick 4 is expected to begin shooting once Keanu finishes up with his scenes on Lana Wachowski’s Matrix 4.
Stahelski has also his long-gestating Highlander reboot for Lionsgate that could be for both television and the big screen. The John Wick sequels seemingly have been the priority at the studio and it’s unknown when they’ll get around to making Highlander.
It’ll be interesting to see if Lionsgate will want to make John Wick: Chapter 5 or give Chad some breathing niche to make some other movies finally and if we’ll see Keanu Reeves taking a role in the project.
