HN Entertainment has learned that production designer Kevin Kavanaugh is expected to join Paramount Picture’s adaptation of the Tom Clancy novel Without Remorse, which will focus on the Jack Ryan universe character John Clark.

A former Navy SEAL that becomes a CIA operative, previously played by Willem Dafoe in the Harrison Ford movie Clear and Present Danger.

Clark, aka John Terrence Kelly, is an ex-Navy-SEAL-turned-operations-officer for the CIA who has appeared in 17 novels starting with 1988’s “The Cardinal of the Kremlin.” Though mainly seen as a secondary character who helps CIA analyst Jack Ryan with the physical elements of missions, Clark finally stepped into the spotlight with “Without Remorse,” which tells his backstory on how he came to work for the CIA.

It will be directed by Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of The Soldado) and stars Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Just Mercy, Creed) as Clark, the character is also said to be leading Paramount’s Rainbow Six movie as well.

Sicario screenwriter Taylor Sheridan worked on the current version of the script.

Kevin’s credits include The Dark Knight Rises, John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Nightcrawler, and has worked on Stefano Sollima’s Sicario: Day of The Soldado.
