Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow movie is currently prepping in the UK at Pinewood and we have another neat addition to the Marvel film’s production team.
HN Entertainment has learned that stunt coordinator Darrin Prescott is expected to be working next on Black Widow. Darrin’s credits include Baby Driver, Black Panther, John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, Gamer, Killing Them Softly, and Public Enemies.
It’s also said he’ll double as the film’s 2nd unit director (most stunt directors tackle both jobs), previously taking the role of 2nd unit director on films such as Deadpool 2, John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, Black Panther, Baby Driver, Captain America: Civil War, and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
UPDATE: Someone has reached out to HN Entertainment to clarify that Darrin will only be directing the action scenes as the 2nd unit director, but will not be the film’s stunt coordinator.
Black Widow already has Mission: Impossible – Fallout cinematographer (as reported by DiscussingFilm), Star Wars: Episode IX art director Jim Barr, and Skyfall costume designer Jany Temime (the last two reported by HN Entertainment).
We previously confirmed that Widow (using the working title of Blue Bayou) would be primarily filming at Pinewood Studios UK. Updated production information suggests that filming will begin sometime in June and could wrap filming in September. Black Widow will be directed by Cate Shortland from a script penned by Jac Schaeffer and new addition Ted Banson, who will be doing some rewrite.
An official release date has yet to be announced for Black Widow by Marvel Studios, but it’s expected to possibly nab the May 1st, 2020 spot.
