The Dark Knight’s rogues gallery may have found one of its faces. According to GWW, John David Washington is being looked at to join the cast of Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Although it’s not clear who exactly he would play, the report speculates that Harvey Dent is a real possibility. The Golden Globe-nominee made waves last year after starring in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, garnering him plenty of praise from critics and audiences alike. He is set to lead a star-studded cast in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which also stars Batman himself, Robert Pattinson.
The lawyer turned sworn adversary of Batman is only one of many comic characters appearing in the upcoming film. The rogues gallery is rumored to also include The Penguin, Catwoman, The Riddler, and Firefly.
Matt Reeves is looking to shoot the Caped Crusader during the first quarter of 2020, with Rogue One cinematographer Greig Fraser behind the camera.
The Batman will hit theaters on June 25th, 2021.
