John Boyega Lost His Script For ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ & It Was Sold On eBay

A few days ago, director J.J. Abrams told a story of an actor that lost their script for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. When this news came out the internet exploded. Fans thought it was Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, while others thought it could be a joke. However, during an interview on Good Morning America, John Boyega revealed it was his script after all. He told Michael Strahan the following:

“Alright guys, it was me…Let me tell you how all this went down. It was actually from my apartment. I was moving apartments and I left my script under my bed. I was just like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna leave it under my bed, when I wake up in the morning, I’ll take it and then move.’ But then my boys came over and we started partying a little bit, and the script, it just stayed there. And then, a few weeks after, this cleaner comes in, finds this script, and then puts it on eBay for like, £65. The person didn’t know the true value.”

Boyega is lucky the cleaner didn’t read through the script and realize the value, as it could have risked spoiling the cinematic event 40 years in the making. According to Abrams, a Disney employee tasked with monitoring such leaks on the internet found it and bought the script ASAP.

Following the events of The Last Jedi, the remaining members of the Resistance face off with the First Order once again, all while reckoning with their troubled pasts. Now holding the knowledge and power of the previous generations, the final battle begins.
