HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that Jennifer Lawrence’s untitled military drama has cinematographer Diego Garcia (Too Old To Die Young, Wildlife, Neon Bull) behind the camera as filming is underway in New Orleans, Louisiana.
We recently revealed that veteran production designer Jack Fisk (The Revenant, There Will Be Blood) is also working the drama.
It will be directed by Lila Neugebauer with a script penned by Elizabeth Sanders.
In April, Collider posted limited plot details for the project. They also suggested that Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Joker, Godzilla vs Kong) could have a role in the film.
Written by first-time screenwriter Elizabeth Sanders, the new film will find Lawrence playing a U.S. soldier who suffers a traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan and struggles to recover back home.
The New Orleans shoot is said to complete at the end of the month.
Jennifer Lawrence has had a rough wave of recent releases with X-Men: Apocalypse, Passengers, Mother!, Red Sparrow, and Dark Phoenix not being terribly successful at the box office or with critics. There is a chance Jennifer might be able to aim for awards-caliber performance with this new film.
A24 has yet to give the untitled film an official release date, but will likely be aiming towards an awards-friendly release date later in the year.
