Jennifer Lawrence’s Military Drama Adds Veteran Production Designer Jack Fisk – Previously Worked On ‘There Will Be Blood’ and ‘The Revenant’

HN Entertainment has learned that Jennifer Lawrence’s untitled military drama has added two-time Oscar-nominated production designer Jack Fisk. His recent projects include Oscar-winners The Revenant and There Will Be Blood.

Fisk has also worked on The Phantom of The Paradise, Carrie, Mulholland Drive, Badlands, The Master, The Tree of Life, and The New World.

It will be directed by Lila Neugebauer with a script penned by Elizabeth Sanders.

Collider was kind enough to provide some details on the film back in April.

Written by first-time screenwriter Elizabeth Sanders, the new film will find Lawrence playing a U.S. soldier who suffers a traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan and struggles to recover back home.

Filming is currently underway in New Orleans, Louisiana with an expectation it will wrap at the end of the month.

It’ll be interesting to see Jennifer Lawrence tackle a straight drama again as she has been known to mix more comedic beats with her last couple of Oscar-worthy performances. I get the feeling this one will be similar in tone to Winter’s Bone if anything.

A24 has yet to give the movie an official release date, but there has been speculation it’ll be aiming for a late 2019 release for awards considerations.
