HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that the next Ghostbusters movie has added stunt coordinator Guy Bews (Legion, Fargo).
Jason Reitman (Juno) will direct and co-write the film that will directly be connected to the original two movies from 1984 and 1989 directed by his father Ivan Reitman.
It will focus on a family that moves back to a small town.
The cast so far includes Mckenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home, Captain Marvel), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, IT), Carrie Coon (Fargo, Gone Girl, Avengers: Infinity War), and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, Avengers: Endgame).
There are still a couple of kid roles to be announced and there is an expectation that the rest of casting will be coming very soon.
Sigourney Weaver recently revealed to ParadeMagazine that she would be reprising Dana Barrett, along with that Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd would be returning to their respective roles of Peter Venkman and Ray Stantz. The size of their roles is currently unknown.
Filming on will begin on July 15th in Calgary, Alberta and will wrap on October 10th.
I’m super excited to see how they’ll attempt to keep the Ghostbusters going here and if they’ll attempt to make it more of a family adventure flick.
Sony Pictures has set the release date for Ghostbusters on July 10th, 2020.
