Yet another cast addition to Adam Wingard’s Godzilla vs Kong has been announced thanks to Deadline. They are reporting that Japanese actor Shun Oguri will make his Hollywood debut on the kaiju crossover. Oguri is best known for his roles in Japanese films Crows Zero and Gintama from legendary director Takashi Miike.
Shun will join fellow cast members Millie Bobby Brown, Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Eiza Gonzalez, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, and Demian Bichir.
This crossover would be a direct sequel to the upcoming Godzilla: King of The Monsters as it would include cast members. Details are scarce but it’s expected we’ll see the return of Skull Island with a large Monarch presence.
Filming will kick-off in Hawaii with other filming locations including Atlanta and Gold Coast, Australia.
Warner Bros. has set the release for Godzilla vs Kong for May 22nd, 2020.
Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action-adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
