A rumor was making its way online not too long ago that boasted that DC Comics magician heroine Zatanna would be showing up in James Gunn’s upcoming flick The Suicide Squad.

The only problem is that today James has taken to Twitter to specifically debunk that rumbling.

GUNN: “I have nothing against Zatanna, but I have no idea where some of this stuff comes from. I never even thought of including her in #TSS (nor many of the other characters I keep hearing are in the film). I can’t comment on every rumor but just know many aren’t true.”

He also alludes to other character rumors online about the film aren’t correct either, but hasn’t named what those characters are and stops short of debunking those as well.

Filming is said to begin later this month and we previously confirmed it will be shot at Pinewood Atlanta Studios.

The impressive cast consists of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, Daniela Melchior, David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Steve Agee, Nathan Fillion, Storm Reid,Flula Borg, and possibly Pete Davidson.

Warner Bros. has set the film’s release date for August 6th, 2021 and James Gunn is expected to jump directly into prep for Guardians of The Galaxy 3 once he completes The Suicide Squad.
