We’re beyond excited about Edgar Wright’s next film Last Night In Soho (title first revealed by us) starring The Witch’s Anya Taylor-Joy and we have a production team update to share. HN Entertainment has a new name concerning the film’s cinematographer and it now looks it like Chung-hoon Chung will be the one working on the upcoming psychology horror film.
His collections of credits include IT, Oldboy, Thirst, Lady Vengeance, The Handmadien, Stoker, Hotel Artemis, and most recently Zombieland: Double Tap.
Previously, we confirmed that Edgar would reunite with longtime production designer Marcus Rowland and Oscar-nominated Baby Driver editor Paul Machliss.
Filming begins this summer in and around the London area.
While there is an expectation the film will have dark humor involved, but Last Night In Soho could be one of the first straight horror films from Edgar Wright.
I have to assume the film’s title is a direct reference to the 1968 song by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch given Edgar’s love for music and needle drops. Wright has previously compared the project to films such as Roman Polanski’s film Repulsion and 1973’s Don’t Look Now starring Donald Sutherland while speaking with Empire.
A release date for Last Night In Soho has yet to be made official.
