IGN was able to speak with Iron Man 3 actor Ty Simpkins about his secret cameo in Avengers: Endgame, as Harley he attends the Tony Stark funeral as a teenager. I personally wasn’t able to place the actor when I spotted him myself.

He spoke about coming back to the role of Harley and gave his perspective on the continued relationship between Harley and Tony taking place off-camera.

“It was so cool coming back. When they gave me the call that I was going to do it, I was freaking out and screaming in the car. At first, it wasn’t confirmed that I was going to come back and I didn’t want to mess it up. So my mom was asking ‘What is it? What is it?’ and I couldn’t tell her!”

“I like to think that they did and that Tony was still taking care of him, because for Harley that bond was super close and he was his kind of his only father figure. So that’s what I was thinking about in the funeral scene, about how sad Harley would have been.”

When asked if he’d be willing to suit up as a version of the Young Avenger known as Iron Lad his response was as expected enthusiastic. For Harley to become Iron Lad, they’d have to alter the character slightly as Nathaniel Richards eventually becomes the Marvel Comics villain Kang The Conqueror.

“Yes, 100%. I would love that!”

There does seem to be plenty of hints in Avengers: Endgame that a Young Avengers movie could be put together with an altered lineup that might include teenage heroes such as Shuri, Peter Parker, Cassie Lang, and Kate Bishop (expected to appear in the Hawkeye Disney+ series).

While unconfirmed other potential members of the Young Avengers that could eventually show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe include Sam Alexander (Nova movie recently rumored) and there has been a lot of fans asking to see Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel show up as well.
