Recently, there have been comments about ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ which hints at the possibility a hidden Elemental will appear. While not advertised so far, it wouldn’t be unbelievable for the plot twist moment once our heroes think they’ve defeated the currently known Elementals. In Marvel Comics, two separate teams using the name Elementals include four members to coincide with the four classical elements of air, water, earth, and fire. One Elementals team was from a different universe sent to Earth thousands of years before the current time period. This team was composed of Hellfire, Hydron, Magnum, and Zephyr.
The other popular Elementals team, called the Elementals of Doom, were created by magic talismans stolen by Diablo to act as a physical counter to the Fantastic Four. However, the ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ trailers and marketing materials have only mentioned three Elementals so far. One of fire, earth, and water presumably based upon Molten Man, Sandman, and Hydro-Man respectively. If there was a fourth member added to the team of Elementals who would that member be? Based upon the sequence in the trailer showing Spider-Man and Mysterio fighting a large amalgamation-type Elemental, it showed characteristics for an Elemental based on air or electricity.
While many Marvel comics fans want to turn to a character such as Whirlwind for an air Elemental, Spider-Man actually has a wind-powered foe named Cyclone. Cyclone wears a suit that allows him the ability to create high-velocity winds around himself. If Marvel went this route, it would fit with the European setting considering the most recent Cyclone (Pierre Fresson) was French. Cyclone fits with the desire to target B-level and C-level villains to use for the Elementals as well.
The only thing going against this character being used is his lack of connectivity with the presumed plans for Spider-Man. This is based on the understanding that the Sinister Six will be foreshadowed during ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home.’ Besides this, Cyclone is not a character worth hiding from marketing or promotions considering his lack of brand value. This would hint that the fourth Elemental is based upon a character already well-known known to Spider-Man fans.
Based on the electricity seen on the amalgamation Elemental, a great candidate would be Electro. In the comics, Electro is known for being a member of the Sinister Six. He is also in the same popularity-tier as Sandman (B-level) making his inclusion worth potentially hiding as a shocking reveal considering Jamie Foxx played the role only five years ago. It would be interesting if maybe the leader of the Elementals was Electro, with him working alongside Mysterio for whatever their plan may be.
When Electro first appeared in comics he was interested in stealing gold from an armored car. It’s possible a scam is being established with Mysterio fighting Elementals based upon a classical element. If Electro were to be behind the various Elementals it wouldn’t be a stretch that he would provide himself gear for various heists using an elemental theme too.
Regardless if either speculation is accurate or not, it will be interesting to see how the Elementals are executed when ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ is released in July. Leave your comments down below, who do you think the secret elemental may be (assuming there is one)?
