According to a report from Deadline, Irish actress Niamh Algar has been given the female lead role in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action-thriller Cash Truck, which has Jason Statham in the male leading role.
Statham stars as H, a cold and mysterious character working at a cash-truck company responsible for moving hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles each week. Weaving through a carefully constructed narrative, the film shifts across timelines and among various characters’ perspectives.
Algar is best known for her role in The Virtues and will be next seen in Ridley Scott’s upcoming science fiction series Raised By Wolves (about androids raising children off-world) that recently moved from TNT to HBO Max.
The rest of the cast includes Holt McCallany (Alien 3, Fight Club, Mindhunter), and Scott Eastwood (Fate of The Furious, Fury, Suicide Squad, Pacific Rim: Uprising), Jeffrey Donovan (Fargo, Sicario, Sicario: Day of The Soldado), Laz Alonso (Avatar, and Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbor).
Filming on Cash Truck will take place in both London, England, and Los Angeles, California.
HN Entertainment has been able to previously confirm the production team on the film includes cinematographer Alan Stewart (Aladdin, The Gentlemen), production designer Martyn John (The Last Kingdom), and costume designer Stephanie Collie (Layer Cake), who worked with Ritchie on Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.
A release date has yet to be given to Cash Truck officially.
Richie’s next project to be released in theaters will be The Gentlemen starring Matthew McConaughey and Charlie Hunnam set to be unleashed on January 24th, 2020.
THE GENTLEMEN follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London.
