HN Entertainment has learned the Guillermo del Toro will reunite with his effects team from Oscar-winner The Shape of Water.
The effects team will include visual effects supervisor Dennis Berardi (Shazam!, The Strain) and special effects supervisor Shane Mahan from Legacy Effects, who previously worked on The Shape of Water.
We previously confirmed that Nightmare Alley’s production team will include cinematographer Dan Laustsen, production designer Tamara Deverell, and art director Brandt Gordon.
An ambitious young con-man who teams up with a female psychiatrist who is even more corrupt than he is. At first, they enjoy success fleecing people with their mentalist act, but then she turns the tables on him, out-manipulating the manipulator.
Bradley Cooper reportedly was being eyed for the lead role after Leonardo DiCaprio passed on the part.
As reported by HN, filming would take place from September 30th to January 28th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Fox Searchlight has yet to give Nightmare Alley an official release date.
