Producer Dinesh Shamdasani posted a brief trailer teaser for Bloodshot on his official Twitter account. The violent footage has Vin Diesel in character seemingly getting the side his face blown off by a shotgun.

The trailer is said here to drop Monday as is the trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (on Monday Night Football).

This could be a direct call-out to previous rumblings that the film could be PG-13 after test screenings have skewed younger than expected and confirming that Bloodshot is going to be actually an R-rated film as previously reported.

Maybe, they decided against that after Harbinger switched studios and allowed them to make a self-contained standalone film with the Valiant Cinematic Universe going elsewhere.

After he and his wife are murdered, marine Ray Garrison is resurrected by a team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility to get revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he thought.

The cast consists of Vin Diesel, Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver, Kung Fury 2, Godzilla vs Kong, Hobbs and Shaw), Sam Heughan (Outlander), Guy Pierce (Iron Man 3, Prometheus, L.A. Confidential), Toby Kebbell (Kong: Skull Island, Dawn of The Planet of The Apes), Talulah Riley, and others.

First-time feature director Dave Wilson is behind the camera, who is best known for his work at Tim Miller’s Blur Studio and tackled the live-action trailer for Titanfall 2.

Production mostly took place in Cape Town, South Africa.

Vin is currently finishing up on Universal’s Fast and Furious 9.

Sony Pictures has set Bloodshot’s release date for February 21st, 2020 a full week after The King’s Man and two weeks after Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey.
