Warner Bros. has announced that they’ve bumped up the release date for their Monsterverse film Godzilla vs Kong by two months to March 13th, 2020 via Deadline.
Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Kyle Chandler (Zero Dark Thirty), Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Game of Thrones, Iron Fist), Brian Tyree (Widows, Atlanta), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2, Hunt For The Wilderpeople), Demian Bichir (The Hateful Eight, Alien: Covenant), Alexander Skarsgard (Mute), Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3), Eiza Gonzalez (Alita: Battle Angel, Baby Driver), and Lance Reddick (John Wick 1-3).
HN Entertainment has also learned that Alien: Covenant actor Benjamin Rigby (Ford v Ferrari) is expected to have a role in the film, which makes sense as Ben is an Aussie actor from Gold Coast and the film has been shooting there over the last couple months. Rigby played Ledward in Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the character that gets the black goo particles in his ear leading to the Neomorph bursting out of his back in the Medbay sequence.
He wouldn’t be the only Covenant cast member on the film as Demian Bichir has a major role.
Filming is currently underway at Gold Coast, Australia at Village Roadshow Studios and is expected to wrap between now and March.
Godzilla vs Kong is expected to be a direct sequel to Godzilla: King of The Monsters as it will carry over some of those characters/cast members.
“In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”
