The Matrix is a constructed virtual world that is built to keep humans in a metal prison as their bodies power a futuristic world ruled by artificial intelligence. Some humans are able to free themselves and others building their own resistance and society in Zion with the rest of the world ruined after a massive ongoing war between humans and machines. During the war, humans blacked-out the sky (the machines’ power source) leading to them using human body heat as their new source of power.
The rest of the cast reportedly includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Neil Patrick Harris, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and possibly Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Matrix 4 is said to begin filming this February and is without an official release date from Warner Bros.
