Filming is said to be underway on Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman prequel/origin film titled Kingsman: The Great Game and we have an interesting crew addition to share.
HN Entertainment can now confirm from our own sources that costume designer Michele Clapton has joined the crew of Kingsman: The Great Game. Clapton’s previous work includes seven seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones and Netflix’s The Crown.
This would support the previous reporting by DiscussingFilm, who first mentioned she had joined the film.
The film is said to focus on the origins of the Kingsman organization post-WWI.
We previously confirmed that cinematographer Ben Davis (Guardians of The Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Layer Cake, Captain Marvel) had joined the film as production has reportedly started last Monday, it’s production start first mentioned by DiscussingFilm.
The production we’ve learned is taking place at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England.
This wouldn’t be the first Game of Thrones and Kingsman connection, as the franchise’s screenwriter Jane Goldman is showrunning the first spin-off series The Long Night starring Noami Watts, as the pilot/series is about to begin filming in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Also, Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance is said to be among the cast alongside leads Ralph Fiennes, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brhul, and Rhys Ifans.
Kingsman 3 is said to be still happening but will shoot after The Great Game.
20th Century Fox has set the film’s release date for November 8th, but it remains to be seen if they’ll keep that spot.
