Marvel just announced they would be partnering with Hulu for two live-action shows, one being Ghost Rider that would focus on the Robbie Reyes version of the character.
Well, Variety now reports that Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) will indeed play the character again for the new series. However, this seemingly won’t have any connection to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and might end up being a soft-reboot.
Variety has learned exclusively that Luna will star in the recently announced Hulu series based on the comic book character. This will mark the second time that Luna has played Ghost Rider, previously appearing as the character in the ABC-Marvel series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” However, sources stress that this will be a completely new iteration of the character in no way connected to the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” storyline.
Ghost Rider, also known as Robbie Reyes, is consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. He lives on the Texas/Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles to control the power he wields
The other series Helstrom will focus on Daimon Helstrom aka Son of Satan and Ana Helstrom aka Satan.
Bother shows are expected to begin airing on Hulu in 2020.
