Disney’s Frozen was a phenom that would go on to earn a massive box office haul of $1.276 billion and would continue to leave a lasting impression on its young audience since the release six years ago.
They’re finally releasing the sequel Frozen II in two months and the early box office tracking via BoxOfficePro gives the impression of a rather large uptick. As the projection range currently is between $115-145 million, which would be fantastic news to Disney.
The high-end projection of $145 million suggests that the film could have an opening that would double the original Frozen’s opening weekend of $67.3 million.
It’s also possible that the projections are low, as Pixar’s Incredibles 2 managed an opening weekend of $182.6 million.
There really is no telling how far past a billion that the sequel could end up doing, the targeted demographic for Frozen 2 could help push the film even past Lion King’s massive $1.632 billion.
Disney will release Frozen 2 on November 22nd.
