Actress turned director Olivia Wilde made waves with her feature film directorial debut Booksmart and is changing genres with her second film. The cast for director Olivia Wilde’s next feature film has been revealed to include Midsommar and Black Widow actress Florence Pugh, who is taking the main lead in Don’t Worry Darling.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, she joins Chris Pine and Shia LaBeouf playing a housewife character in the 1950s thriller taking place in a California desert community. Wilde will also take a supporting role.
Other details on the film are currently scarce.
Filming had originally planned on starting in the spring but the COVID-19 pandemic put a pause on those plans. New Line Cinema hopes to get cameras rolling as soon as the restrictions are lifted and it’s safe to begin production.
Florence Pugh will be seen next in Marvel’s Black Widow starring alongside Scarlett Johansson and Chris Pine is attached to play Simon Templar in Paramount’s reboot of The Saint from director Dexter Fletcher.
Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have yet to give Don’t Worry Darling an official release date.
